A downloadable game for Windows

Fan made remake in unreal editor 4 of the opening level from Croc: Legend of the Gobbos! This was meant to be a one week challenge using our own made assets, unreal market place assets and assets from the original game. While most of it was done in a week life got in the way and it turned into a month.

Made by two of us although all sound was taken from the original game. We do not take any ownership over any of this or any of the original Croc IP/Content and have only created this as a love note to the original game. We have also chosen only to do the first level so not to step on the toes of the Croc rights owners if they want to reboot/remake the franchise one day!

Anyway please enjoy and thank you for playing :D

ALSO please support any official releases of Croc that may happen!

(Just a note.. very buggy... haha )

Much respect guys, amazing attention for detail truthful to the source material and a massive injection of pure concentrated nostalgia for me. I wasn't far from shedding a tear when I remembered playing through this level (and the rest of the game) as a kid and the visual upgrade adds a lot.

I created an account on this site, which I randomly stumbled upon, just to leave this comment lol. Take care guys.

Awee thank you so much that is one of the nicest things we have have read and we really appreciate it thank you :)

It's lovely when the remakes (like for example Crash and Spyro) can bring bring us back to memories of when we were younger and move us like they did back then!

Again thank you for the kind words it really means a lot and I can not state how much we appreciate it!

Hey! This looks great, my friend and I are also attempting to remake this game. I was wondering if you'd be willing to share your rigged model with the animations? We're both programmers and tend to have a lot of issues with 3D modeling.

Hello and thank you! The model and assets are in the build I shared in another chat on this page so look through and find it :)

It's fine to use the animations but the model is made by another person but just go to his art station to contact him to ask!

Sounds great, thank you!

Two questions...

1. Are you still a horse?

2. Is there any chance you'd strip this project of all its Croc-Related trademarks and upload it to the Epic/Unreal Store as a 3D Platformer template?

There are other templates for 3D platformers already, but none quite as focused as this one, with the ground pound, spin attack, gem counter to unlock doors, etc. I'd be willing to pay for this as a developer's project just to see how the systems interconnect.

1.  Still on the outside... Neigh ๐Ÿ˜‚

2. Awee don't worry about paying for it here it is haha

I think it's unreal version 4.26... I think... Just don't use any of the art assets (we used a content pack for a lot of the non croc specific environment assets from the ue4 marketplace) but help yourself to any of the blueprints ๐Ÿ˜Š Just if you make anything using them or even just outright copy them just in the credits for you own game just include was a horse in the special thanks section (and its fine if you forget just send a link so we can play the game haha ๐Ÿ˜Š). And good luck in your deving!

Is it alright if I use this as well. I am currently attending a college that mainly focuses teaching courses in Unity but one of my classes is teaching us the basics of unreal engine and for our final project we just have to make a level of anything we want. I was hoping to use this as a base and swap out some assets to create a level in unreal engine. If you plan on continuing this, perhaps I could even work with you to recreate some levels of this lovable crocadile?

Hello :)  Feel free to use it! No plans on continuing it on our end but don't mind if someone else wants to run with it honestly :)  (Just as a warning though the teleportation to the bonus section breaks on build but works in editor so beware of that! )

I would love to play this game, but the rar is locked with a password.

Hello :)  I re-uploaded it as a zip file for you so should be all good to play it now!  (No idea why the password thing was happening sorry)

(1 edit)

It still needs a password. I should that I am using PeaZip to try to unzip the file.

Just use the default Windows extractor it will work since it's a zip file!

If it's WinZip, it costs money to use and I'm out of days for the free trial. I'm also trying to open it as an archive, but a pop-up says it's unreadable.

I'm not sure whats happening sorry, there does not seem to be any issues on my end and other people have been fine with it!  I use win rar myself which works and if I right click on the file and go "Open With > Windows Explorer" that works too!

Oh my god, you have no idea how hyped I am right now. I was dreaming of having a Croc remake\remaster\reboot (basically anywhere Croc related) for like 15 years. It's a game that has a special place in my heart. Do you plan on making another levels? If you do then I'm totally following you.

No sorry! I read somewhere on of the creators (San I think his name/nickname was) said it's not a matter of if but when in regards to them resurrecting Croc! One of the major reasons for only doing one level is not to potentially harm this future project.

But awee thank you glad you like what we did :D

Yeah, that's the last info I've heard about Croc as well. Still waiting for any movement there ;)

Good remake dev i really hope the make a full remake of it

Thank you for the kind words :)  Apparently one of the original devs said it's not a matter of if but when!
