Hi there, I am DragonExplosion and I am a Youtuber. If you like my videos, please leave a like and subscribe at my channel.

The game looks amazing but unfortunately I had to come lower the graphics of the game for smooth gameplay. Nonetheless, the story was interesting and looking for the missing girl of the main characters' life was really driving the story forward. I like the use of lighting and claustrophobic corridors throughout the game to create a scary mood and atmosphere. I also liked the usage of the historical place, "Catacombs of Paris" as an inspiration for the game and the method of hiding from the ghost was quite interesting as well. Furthermore, I loved the voice-acting used in the game as they sound really nice and definitely added on to the quality of the game.

I felt that more about the story could have been touched on as the ending was quite saddening to see. It makes you wonder how much the main character loved the girl of his life and what has the girl been through to result in such a tragic fate. Moreover, the death animation and sound effect wasn't really that horrifying and more events and obstacles could have been added to make the entire experience more immersive for a fulfilling ending.

Thank you for reading my comment and I wish you good luck in your future endeavours.

Thank you for doing a video on it :)  Left you two of each haha!

Ah yes the performance is not the best.. Unreal's lighting bake was playing up so decided to turn it fully real time Lumen lighting haha! Sadly it had come with a bit of a performance hit!

And thank you for all the kind comments! Normally I bite off more than I chew so I purposely tried to keep this Jam game smaller scope than my others (But had less than two weeks to work on this so even then had to scale back stuff sadly...).

But thank you so much again :)

Gave this game a good shot. I believe with some optimizations and changing the blackout mechanics thing it would be a great game! Keep up the work.

Game was played at: 54:20

Thanks for playing and streaming it  :)  The blackout ghost mechanics are when she says "I see you" just turn off your light and wait it out!  Which version did you play by the way it looks like an older one?

Not sure which version. I had downloaded them in the last 24 hrs

that's strange... should be the latestest, I'll have to investigate!

Really needs some performance improvements. i7-9700K and a 3080 shouldn't lag. It was also too dark most of the time so I had to just go around in the dark and press E until I hit a torch by sheer luck. Died (?) to the ghost and ended up in the dark, could still walk around, so I am not sure what happened.

Performance isn't great in the graveyard (couldn't figure out what was causing it but in the catacombs it's fine on my pc and I'm using a lot worse spec than you!

Did the first ghost attack happen after you went down the hole and walked to the end? After that attack it takes you to a different location and you need to press q to open the lighter back up! I might need to auto activate it again when that happens!

Thanks for giving it a shot though :) I wil make some changes based on your feedback ! Do you have a game submission? Ill make sure to play it later 😁

Oh yeah Q wasn't intuitive and I just have forgotten. I think you can just add a timer and give the player either a hint or start the lighter yourself. Maybe some sound cue or dialogue might help make it clear the player gets teleported and is still in the active game.

I think performance can be improved with the reduction of effects. looks like you have a lot of post processing going on. I don't know what the resolution was. I have a 4k screen so maybe it defaulted to thst resolution which would be quite high

Just released an update! Added a prompt after 10 seconds if the lighter has not been activated in that spot so should be fine now. Also got the fps fixed in the graveyard (wasn't effects was just two objects that I forgot to add lods too that were very very very high poly).

Give it a shot when you get a chance and thanks for the feedback!

Oh and if you get stuck moving forward at all with the ghost as a hint... Listen 😁

Yeah performance is definitely improved. If you're open to some additional feedback: I would suggest writing out the monologues on screen so people with impaired hearing know what's going on. A menu (even if it just has a start / quit button) would be a great addition! There are also a few typos in the gatekeeper dialogue which is a bit hard to read because its so big. I'd also suggest using F as a the lighter key, since that is the most common used button for flashlights in games. Glad I got to see the catacomb section, it looks really cool! Not sure what my objective is there, though.

Thanks again for the feed back! I only had two weeks to work on this for the game jam so some things had to be compromised sadly! I might patch them in later but don't want to change too much till it's ranked for the competition!

And the objective is your there looking for someone.. It's kept vague for story reasons that reveal themselves as you get further through!
